Destin, Florida is a popular beach getaway, but not all beaches are equal. One of the things that people always ask is what is there to do there? So today, we are going to discuss Destin Florida Nightlife.
I have been to Destin several times and have always enjoyed myself. I’m not usually a big drinker, but I do enjoy a nice cocktail now and again. For some people, that is what vacations are all about. Luckily, Destin has something for everyone.
Destin Florida Nightlife- Shopping
There are multiple shopping areas that can keep you entertained while you are visiting Destin. Whether you are looking for upscale or quirky, you will find something to your liking at one of the following shopping centers.
Silver Sands Premium Outlets– This is a shopping destination for anyone who loves outlet malls. There are so many brand name stores that you are sure to find at least one you are interested in. According to their website, there are 110 different designer and name-brand outlets in the mall. Whether you are looking for women’s apparel or sporting goods, you can find it here. Its convenient location is just one mile west of Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. If you get hungry from all that shopping, you can find a variety of dining options to choose from.
Destin Commons– This outdoor shopping area boasts over 95 stores and restaurants and they claim to have the regions first Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen and Southern Living Store. A movie theater allows you to take in one of the latest Hollywood flicks. They also have a mural art walk and seasonal events to provide more fun. It is undoubtedly a shopper’s paradise. Be sure to ask about Military discounts!
Grand Boulevard at Sandestin– Grand Boulevard at Sandestin is home to a number of exclusive boutiques and specialty shopping locations. They also offer a variety of casual and fine dining restaurants, including Emeril’s Coastal Italian restaurant. They have a 10 screen movie theater and provide live entertainment events frequently.
Also, check out the Village at Baytowne Wharf and the HarborWalk Village and Marina down below. Even though there are shopping opportunities in both of these places, they were included below because they have many other activities as well.
Destin Florida Nightlife- Restaurants and Bars
There are many restaurants and bars to choose from in the Destin area, far too many to post here, but we will provide a few hotspots for you to check out.
Fudpuckers Beachside Bar & Grill– This beachside bar and grill is a draw for the whole family. Not only do they dish up good food, they also provide live gator shows. You can see, feed, or have your picture taken with a live alligator while you are waiting to be seated. As busy as this place gets, you will definitely want to take advantage of that opportunity. Be sure to write your name on the wall while you’re there!
McGuire’s Irish Pub of Destin– Open until 2 am, this Irish pub lists feasting, imbibery, and debauchery on its website. That pretty much says it all. The upstairs of the restaurant overlooks the Destin Harbor on The Deck, where you can enjoy a good view, some great food and drinks, and listen to live bands.
Graffiti & The Funky Blues Shack– This restaurant features live music playing Blues, Bluegrass, and Funk music. Their food includes seafood, Italian, and pizza options. The restaurant includes two bars, the left side set up with large screen TVs, while the right side features live music. The choice is yours how you want to enjoy the evening, low key hanging out with friends or revved up for some sounds.
The Other End– Waterfront beer garden set up with an Airstream trailer that serves burgers, brats, pretzels, and more. Sit by the water and drink craft beer on tap or grab a bottle of craft, domestic, or international beers. What a great way to spend an evening. It’s got 4.5/5 on Trip Advisor!
AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar– Great spot for enjoying a meal or drink with a Harbor view. If you’re looking for oysters, this is the place to be, whether you like them raw, baked, or steamed, they’ve got them all. They offer live music and waterfront seating.
Bric à Brac– This is a restaurant and nightclub rolled into one. Don’t worry, kids are welcome. They have the best crab cakes in Destin, voted by consumers every year since 2015. They only opened their doors in 2014, which goes to show that good food gets noticed. Stick around for the nightclub and enjoy a dance party. Every Friday and Saturday nights are Latin nights. The party starts at 11 pm upstairs from the restaurant. Must be 18 to enter and 21 to drink.
The Village Door– This dockside restaurant and nightclub is located on the Baytowne Wharf has been voted the best place to dance in Destin. The restaurant offers barbecue and seafood and they smoke their meats in-house every day. When the restaurant closes down, the nightclub heats up. With an upstairs bar and a downstairs bar and dancefloor, you’re sure to find all the fun you’re looking for.
Destin Florida Nightlife- Other Activities
Escape Rooms- There are a couple of options for escape room fun in Destin. The Escape Zone 60 features a Zombie apocalypse, a crime scene, and a UFO investigation. Escapology Destin features the Cuban crisis, Th3 C0d3, Under pressure, antidote, Budapest Express, and Shanghaied. The Escapology rooms are wheelchair accessible, the Escape Zone website does not specify so you may want to call and make certain before you go. Escape rooms are a lot of fun for those who like to solve puzzles. You get so immersed in the game that it feels like you are actually in that location trying to get out! I highly recommend these types of games.
Hurricane Lanes– If you like bowling, Hurricane Lanes can take care of you. They are open from 11 am every day until Midnights on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and they close at 2 am the rest of the week. They boast 26 bowling lanes and offer an arcade and 6 pool tables. Rupert’s Sports Bar is available for those wanting a drink, and the Strikezone Cafe can feed those hungry visitors.
The Track– The Track is a family amusement park featuring mini-golf, bumper cars and bumper boats, go-karts, Kids Country Rides, the Skyflyer, the Skycoaster, Hurricane 360, an arcade, and more. You purchase point cards to use and each ride or activity takes points from the card. If you purchase a card and don’t use all the points, you can use them at any of the other Track locations.
Village of Baytowne Wharf– A variety of activities are available at Baytowne Wharf including activities for the kids and adventurous adults. There is a playground for the younger ones, and for those who are able and may be so inclined, there is a zipline, bungee, ropes course and more. For those wanting relaxation, the JenSpa can provide that for you. Located on the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the village includes 12 restaurants and 15 retail stores, and several nighttime venues. There is certainly something for everyone to do here.
HarborWalk Village and Marina– HarborWalk Village and Marina is an assortment of activities located on the waterfront. This is where many of the boat tours leave out of. You can rent paddleboards, kayaks, and jet skis. There are shopping venues mixed in with amusement activities such as bungee jumping and Fat Tuesday Parades, every Tuesday during the summer months. There’s an escape room and even a theater to keep you entertained. Walk the waters edge along the boardwalk and take in the sights of the seagulls flying overhead as the fishermen bring in their catch. HarborWalk Village is a must-do for any Destin vacation.
